Hi,
Is there any video support in Linux? After reading some other forum posts it seems as though QuickTime was used originally and DirectShow is being used currently on Windows but no mention of any other platform. If there is video support, could you provide an idea of what formats are supported.

We've upgraded to the latest build for redhat and found that libmpeg2.so.0 was a new dependency. We assumed this might add video support but we've tried both mpeg1 and mpeg2 videos to no avail.

Console log:
LOG   Avalon    Init: 19/351, V2.0.0 build: R-20416 Oct 25 2010
LOG   Avalon    CDF parsing (0.00601912s): 618 Node-Types defined
WARNING   Avalon    Run realize_CB: 1x1
WARNING   Avalon    Cannot Movie::read() beetle.mpg
LOG   Avalon    Set Two sided Lighting to 1
LOG   Avalon    Set Spec Texture Lighting to 1
LOG   Avalon    Set Global Ambient light

Is it possible I am missing anything in my x3d file? Are either of these formats supported? If not, are any video formats supported? The following is the vrml/x3d file we used. The beetle.mpg file loads in mplayer using the mpeg-1 codec.

#X3D V3.0 utf8

Shape {
   geometry Box {}
   appearance Appearance {
      texture MovieTexture {
         loop TRUE
         url ["beetle.mpg"]
      }
   }
}

Thanks,
Pat

hi,
there was a funny flag, missing to be set at our movie library, controlling the activation of the ffmpeg code.
so for now, the movie playability is back inside from the begin of this week.
