Hello,

I am a student apprentice at the IGD Rostock and should try to use the BrowserTexture node to integrate a JApplet as a GUI into a X3D scene.
I testet some html pages containing a simple Applet, but I always only got the self defined message from the <applet> tag what is displayed when the Applet couldn't be loaded.

So my question is, whether it is even supported to embed an Applet by using a BrowserTexture node? And if it is possible I would be thankful for any kind of help.

Thanks
thomas

I haven't tried yet, but there are limitations of the underlying UI system, which renders the webpage, concerning plug-ins and the like. AFAIK your approach won't work, sorry for that.

Hi,

I played a little with the BrowserTexture too and would like to know if I can find a guidline somewhere, what is supported and what not. It seems like it cant (even) work with jpeg but has no problem with png. What about videos and so on...?
