Hi everyone,

I am trying to get MovieTexture to work in Instant Player but it doesn't.
My code is:

Shape {
  appearance Appearance {
   texture MovieTexture {
      loop TRUE
      url "PsychoCats.mpg"
      }
}
      geometry Box { size 5 5 5}
}

Has someone successfully used movie texture with instant player?
Thanks in advance!

Probably you did not install QuickTime:

Ive used it successfully a view versions ago, yes. On a PolygonOverlay as well as on a cube. (I cant check your code, since I write x3d, sorry)
Its been a while, but I remember, that I had some difficulties, too. Try different codecs. I tend to use mp4 with h.264 if neccessary.
Hope I could help
Good luck

Hi

Im currently experimenting with some dailybuilds and have to say, that I get the same error now!
Maybe they changed some syntax? Guess well find out, when the next changelog comes...

The dailybuild versions do not use QuickTime anymore, we switched to DirectShow recently. Maybe there are some codecs missing. As a rule of thumb: When it plays in the Microsoft Media Player, it should also work in InstantPlayer.

Generally: We can only help fixing problems when we get information about the operating system, the InstantPlayer version, as well as access to the concrete VRML World + movie file which does not work.

Bye,

Patrick
