Hello everybody,

I hope this is the right forum.....
Is there any documentation about the use and the parameters of the conversion to POPGeometry for the AOPT tool? I've read the paper but I haven't figured out which parameter to use for the AOPT tool.

Hi Patrick,

thanks for your interest in using InstantReality and X3DOM.

We should really document the aopt commands for POP on the project page.

The aopt command is "K".
Like for BinaryGeometry, there are "suboptions", which must be specified behind the ":". Allowed suboptions:

Similar to BinGeo:
'i' - indexed export
'a' - auto-index mode (more than 2^16 vertices -> non-indexed)
'p' - compact spherical normals

Special for POPGeo:
'b' - protect border vertices (might prevent cracks between patches in the mesh)

The target directory must always exist.

If you use "i", make sure your geometry has less than 2^16 vertices. You can do this, for example, using aopts build-in methods for mesh partitioning.

aopt -i myModel.x3d -F Scene:"maxtris(20000)" -K popGeo/:ipb -N myModel-X3DOM.html
