Hi,
I am adapting a Windows VRML file to work for Mac using your InstantPlayer. The wrl file loads images. If all files are on my desktop it works beautifully. If I try to pull via Server it seems as if image file names with different capital/small writing create a problem.

I get the following error message: Invalid mimeType text/html in getFileType()

Can you help please?

Hey Uwe,

this sounds like a misconfigured server or an invalid URL to the image. The mimetype of an image should not be text/html, but something along the lines of image/jpeg or image/png.

If you open the same URL in a browser, do you get an image or a 404 error page?

Please note: On Mac OS X and Windows capitalization of files is ignored, but webservers which run another Unix or Linux flavor do pay attention to correct capitalization!

Cheers

Hi tfranke,

thank you very much for your help!!
I have an URL that points to the .wrl file, which in turns loads the pictures with statements like this:   texture DEF EB ImageTexture {url "E-back.jpg"}

When I change the URL to point directly to the image, the image does load in my browser with no problem.

I have now made sure that capitalisation in file names is same as in programme but I get the same behaviour?

Best,
Uwe
