Hi,

Last summer I tried to get InstantReality up and running on our SLES 10.3 based graphics cluster. Unfortunately this proved to be impossible, but I was told that we might have better luck on Suse linux enterprise 11.x...

In the meantime we did upgrade the cluster in question to SLES 11.1. So now I'm back to ask: Is it possible to install InstantReality on this setup?

I already tried the OpenSuse 11.3 packages, but they need a newer version of libstdc++ (required: GLIBCXX_3.4.14, but package libstdc++43-4.3.4_20091019-0.7.35 only contains GLIBCXX_3.4.10).

Hi,

never tried, but some years ago I managed to make my SuSE believe that it has the required libs by creating an appropriate symlink with the respective name...

Hello yjung,

Thanks for your answer. The problem with the openSuse packages is not about missing symlinks, though: I circumvented the rpm installation using rpm2cpio (just like in the installation notes for Gentoo linux), and the runtime-linker complains that the mentioned symbols are missing in our version of libstdc++.

Thanks,

Hey Johannes!

Are you using the 32 or 64 bit version?

Please try installing libstdc++45 and see if this resolves the matter. Our build machines use the developer repository that is usally provided as DVD image with the SuSE release.

Cheers
