Hi,

I want to use a MovieTexture with the associated sound.

DEF VidPlaneSP Transform
{
  translation 80 50 0
  scale 170 95.6 0.1
  render FALSE
  children [

   DEF MyVideo Shape
   {
      appearance Appearance
     {
        texture DEF MOVIE MovieTexture
       {
        url "Spindel.wmv"
        loop TRUE
         }
         material Material
       {
           diffuseColor 0.4 0.4 0.4
           emissiveColor 0.3 0.3 0.3
          transparency 0
        }
      }
      geometry Plane
     {
        size 1 1
      }
    }
   DEF MySound Sound { source USE MOVIE }
  ]
}

As I read in my vrml book and on different webpages, you can use a MovieTexture to play the synchronised sound (DEF MySound Sound { source USE MOVIE }). But my example doesn't work (a touch sensor activates the node, don't wonder about the render = FALSE). Any ideas? Is there a failure, or is it a missing feature in instant player?

Best regards

Yes, it's a missing feature in IR, sorry for that...

That feature would be also interesting for us. Will it be implemented in a future version of the IP?

Best wishes,

It's really a old and annoying bug in the IR-codebase and not so easy to fix right now. The spatial audio content and video decoder backends are separated and we would need a refactor both to allow PCM-chunks from the video container. Sorry, no short turn solution right now. You have to remux your content to separate video and audio files (e.g. using ffmpeg).

best regards
